The Legion awards medals in recognition of meritorious service, for past offices held by an individual, for long service, and to commemorate significant anniversaries of the Legion.

The medals are worn on the right breast in order of precedence from the wearer's centre to right, and in order of seniority of office and in the following order

1. the meritorious service medal
2. past officer medals in the following order
   • dominion
   • provincial
   • district
   • zone
   • branch
3. the fifty year long service medal
4. other Legion medals in the order they were received
