The Legion in Ontario has a rich history with many branches having over 75 years of service to their communities. We use symbols and badges to identify with and to promote our common goals. Click on an image below to see an explanation.
The work of the Legion is done primarily by volunteers. We recognize individual contributions in many ways. Perhaps you have seen a member in your community proudly wearing a uniform, with service medals over the left breast, and Legion awarded medals on the right breast. Click on the images above to get an explanation of the Legion awarded medals. For information on medals you may see on a veteran check out this link to the Department of Veterans Affairs - Canadian Military Medals and Decorations site. For information on current service medals, check out this link to the Department of National Defense. |
