In January 1945, he joined the Canadian Infantry and served in Canada until his discharge in September 1945. Leonard has been a member of Sarnia Legion Branch 62 for sixty-four years. LÉGER, Joseph J. Joseph was born in Acadian Siding, New Brunswick on March 31, 1922. He enlisted on April 3, 1940 and served with the St. John Fusiliers and the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa, “B” Company, in England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Slovakia. He was discharged on December 11, 1945. Joseph was awarded the France and Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and the GBR Medal. Joseph was a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419 before he passed away on June 9, 2007. LEET, Cyril J. Cyril was born on October 7, 1968 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the Canadian Navy in June 1987 and served in the Persian Gulf with Maritime Command on HMCS Marguerite, HMCS Nipigon, HMCS Ottawa, HMCS Preserver and HMCS Protecteur until his discharge in December 1991. Cyril has been a member of Tottenham Legion Branch 329 for nine years.
