185 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MACGREGOR, William F. William was born on May 8, 1933 in Windsor, Ontario. He joined the Army in London, Ontario in May 1951 and enlisted in a NATO force to train in an Artillery Unit. After going to Shilo, Manitoba to the School of Artillery and becoming a Tech Assistant, the unit was formed into the 79th Field Regiment. William left for Germany in December 1951 and arrived at Camp Hohne (Bergan Belsen). During 1953, the unit had formed a basketball team and were invited to Aldershot to play in the British Army of the Rhine Championship, which they won. He served in Germany until his discharge in January 1953. William has been a member of the Bath Legion Branch 623 for sixty years. MACKENZIE, John Stewart John was born on September 17, 1921 in Dailly, Ayrshire, Scotland. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served in the Armoured Tank Corps in Canada, England and Europe until his discharge in 1945. John is a member of Fergus Legion Branch 275. MACKENZIE, James M. James was born on October 24, 1919 in Skeldon, Ayrshire, Scotland. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served with the Toronto Scottish Cameron Highlanders in Canada, England as well as other parts of Europe until his discharge in 1945. He was a member of Fergus Legion Branch 275 before he passed away on May 1, 2003.
