He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) on June 3, 1941, and served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was discharged on March 7, 1946. Thomas received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945. He was President of The Royal Canadian Legion Milton Wesley Branch and sat on the executive for three years. FINLAY, Alvin John Alexander Alvin was born on January 10, 1923, to Alexander and Mary Maud Finlay. He resided in Echo Bay, Ontario. A railway section worker by trade, Alvin enlisted in the Army (Reserve Force) on September 14, 1943, and joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment. He served in France, the Netherlands and Germany. Alvin was killed in action on February 25, 1945, somewhere in Germany. He is buried in the Canadian Military Cemetery, Nijmegen, Netherlands. His name is inscribed on the Echo Bay cenotaph, east of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. FEATHERSTONE, Thomas Thomas was born on September 15, 1920, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, to Thomas and Regina Featherstone. His trade was woodsman. On July 25, 1940, he enlisted in the Army (Reserve Force) with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment of Canada). Thomas died on February 25, 1945, in Bedburg, Germany. He is buried in the Groesbeek Canadian war Cemetery, Nijmegen, Netherlands. His name is inscribed on the Hilton Beach cenotaph, St. Joseph Island, Ontario, east of Sault Ste. Marie.
