131 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HALL (TUFFIN), Ivy Rose Ivy was born in England on November 24, 1920. She enlisted in the British Royal Air Force (Regular) in 1939 and served until her discharge in 1945. She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Acton Branch 197. Ivy passed away on March 17, 1998. She was a resident of Acton, Ontario for many years. HAMELIN, Jeffrey Dennis Jeffrey was born on October 2, 1974, in Windsor, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces (Reserve) in 1994, serving 28 years. Initially joining as Infantry and serving with 1st Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment in Petawawa from 1994 to 2001, he completed two peacekeeping tours, Bosnia (1998) and Kosovo (1999/2000). His highlight was serving and deploying withAssault Pioneer Platoon. He served with the Essex and Kent Scottish from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, he joined the CanadianAir Force as anAerospace Telecommunication Information Systems (ATIS) Technician, and was first posted to 8Wing TrentonWTIS. In 2010, he was part of the humanitarian efforts during the earthquake in Haiti. Later serving in 12 Wing Shearwater, RCAF Academy Borden and in 2018 with 76 Communication Regiment in Ottawa. He retired in 2022 having elevated to the rank of Warrant Officer. His grandfather, grandmother, and great grandfather served in the military. HALLMAN, Ervin Earl Ervin was born inWilmot Township, Ontario in 1920, to Horace and Irene (Shantz) Hallman along the Myrtle, Roy, George, Orval and Phyliss. In 1941, Ervin enlisted in World War II with the Highland Light Infantry of Canada in Galt, Ontario and was trained as a rifleman. In 1945, the war was over, and Ervin returned to Kitchener and worked at BF Goodrich. Ervin married Olive (Culligan). He was a 25-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Waterloo Branch 530. Ervin passed away in 1999 and is buried in the Mannhein Mennonite Cemetery, Wilmot Township. His name is inscribed on plaque #6 of Waterloo Legion Veterans Memorial Wall.
