He enlisted in November 1942 and served in Canada from the General List/Infantry until his discharge in April 1946. Major Harris worked in the legal department at Army HQ in Ottawa. After the war, he practiced law in Port Perry until his retirement. William passed away on June 17, 1995. HARRON, Alvin Alvin was born on June 23, 1920, in Arran Township, Ontario. He enlisted in 1942 and was killed in action in Sicily on July 20, 1943 and the age of 23. Alvin is buried in the Agira Canadian Military Cemetery in Sicily. HARRISON, Ross Edgar Ross was born in Wingham, Ontario on May 16, 1913. He enlisted in the Army on June 15, 1942, and was attached to #21 Company Canadian Dental Corps. He was sent to England for part of his military service. Ross was discharged from the service on April 26, 1946, and returned to the Listowel area where he established Harrrison and Gibson Furniture and Funeral Home. He married Edith McGill and raised three children. The couple were active in the community enjoying golf and curling. Ross served as a school board trustee, was a charter member of the Kinsmen Club and a member of the Major Andrew McKeever Branch 259 of The Royal Canadian Legion in Listowel. He enjoyed euchre and cribbage. Ross passed away on November 14, 1998, and is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Listowel.
