193 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LARGE, Robert Cullen “Bob” Robert was born in Leamington, Ontario on April 2, 1920, and grew up in both Leamington and Windsor. He joined the Army (Regular Force) with the Essex Scottish Regiment on July 9, 1940. He later applied for overseas duty and sailed to England in 1941 on the Reina del Pacifico. After training in England for over a year, he participated in the raid on Dieppe, France on August 19, 1942, where he was severely injured and left for dead. He was captured and was taken as prisoner of war until the end of the war. After recuperating, he rejoined the regiment and retired in 1962 attaining the rank of Company Sergeant Major. Bob moved to Michigan with his wife and over the years worked in the printing business, as a car salesman, owned three auto service stations, and worked for Borman Inc. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Lion’s Head, Ontario where he joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 202 in 1985 and was a member for 19 years. They moved to Kingsville in 2004. Robert passed away on July 1, 2009. He was the father of three children. Robert was also National President of the Ex-POW Association, European Theatre for two terms. LAUZON, Terry Joseph Terry was born in Windsor, Ontario on November 10, 1956. At the age of seventeen, on June 6, 1975, he joined the Army in Windsor and had his basic training in Wainwright, Alberta. In Wainwright, he joined the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. In 1975, Terry went to London, Ontario and spent two years with the RCR’s. In 1976, he went to the summer Olympics in Montreal. He was assigned to the Maribell Airport as a sniper. In 1977, he went back to Calgary and rejoined the Pat’s. Terry was released on June 6, 1985. He came to Windsor and worked in construction. Terry is now retired and is a proud member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255. LAUZON, Harry Francis Harry was born in Windsor, Ontario, on March 17, 1919. Early on in World War II, he married Florence Drouillard shortly before enrolling in the Canadian Army (Regular Force) in London, Ontario, on January 27, 1942. Private (later Lance Corporal) Harry Lauzon served with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until the end of the war. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945. Harry returned to Canada to be discharged on January 22, 1946. He returned to Windsor where he lived for the rest of his life, working for 22 years for Carling Brewery. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Harry passed away on August 24, 1976.
