47 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BOUGHNER, Randall Leonard Randall was born on February 22, 1962, in Toronto, Ontario. He signed up in the Army (Regular Force) on September 8, 1981, at the Wolseley Barracks in London, Ontario and trained at the Canadian Forces Medical Service School in Borden, Ontario. He served in Canada with 2 Field Ambulance. He received the Canadian Forces Decoration, Peacekeeping Award, Bosnia Medal and Kosovo Medal. After his discharge in November 2004, he took up employment at a furniture factory and then worked at the Tillsonburg Golf Club for four years. He then worked as a grocery clerk and also in shipping and receiving. BOWEN, Stanley Gordon Stanley was born in Toronto on August 12, 1926. He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) on August 12, 1944 and served as Lance Corporal Infantry Machine Gun until his discharge in July 1947. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 197 in Acton. BOURNER, George Eric George was born on October 10, 1935, in Eastbourne, England. He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in 1953 and served in the KoreanWar. He did basic training inAldershot in 1953, at the age of eighteen. His job in the service with the Royal Engineers Army Postal Service was to pick up mail from various locations and deliver it to the different USA units. George arrived back in England in January 1956, married Enid in 1957 and immigrated to Canada in 1958 where he worked as a butcher for Dominion Stores. George and Enid had two children, David and Alison. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Bay Ridges Branch 606 in Pickering in 1969 where his main interest was the needs of their veterans and their widows. After joining the Legion, George joined Unit 20 of the Korean Veterans Association of Canada where he took on position of National Quarter Master. He was awarded a Life Membership by the Branch in 2004, was Branch Service Officer from 1989 to 2009, Zone F-1 Service Officer from 1997 to 2009, and awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2010. George received the Canada 125 Medal for his work with Veteran Affairs Canada. George and Enid were married for 61 years when he passed away on December 10, 2018.
