99 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CULKEEN, Gerard G. C. “Gerry” Gerry was born on February 23, 1925 in Kilworthy, Muskoka, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on February 1, 1944 and served with the Essex Scottish Regiment in Europe during World War II. He was discharged on October 1, 1947 and awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Defense Medal, and the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation. Gerry has been a member of Maple Leaf/Swansea Legion Branch 266/46 for 44 years. DAMUDE, Brett D. Brett was born on January 23, 1981 in London, ON to Doug and Maria Damude. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on September 2, 2005. He served as a mobile support equipment operator with 2 Service Battalion in Petawawa, ON. Brett is an Afghanistan war veteran having completed a tour from February to July 2007. As a trucker, he travelled over dangerous routes to deliver many supplies and ammo to the Canadian Soldiers at Forward Operating Bases in Afghanistan. He was awarded the General Campaign Star Afghanistan. Brett was discharged on June 7, 2012 at the rank of Corporal. DAHMER, Alfred Herbert Alfred was born on July 27, 1921 in Atwood, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on August 12, 1942 and served in England and Continental Europe during World War II. Lance Corporal Dahmer was discharged on July 10, 1946 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defense Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was a member of Captain Fred Campbell, V.C. Legion Branch 134 for seventy years. Alfred passed away on November 11, 2007.
