101 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DAMUDE, Douglas J. Douglas was born on October 21, 1953 in Niagara Falls, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army as an infantryman on July 5, 1971. He completed basic training at CFRS Cornwallis, NS and was awarded both the Marksmanship Trophy and the Commandants Shield for Best Recruit. Douglas served with 1 Royal Canadian Regiment London prior to reclassifying to Administrative Clerk in 1975. He finished his career serving on board Navy Destroyer HMCS Huron, HMCS Yukon and HMCS Algonquin. He was awarded the Special Service Medal, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration with Clasp. He retired in July 1995 as a Warrant Officer after 25 years of service. Douglas has been a member of Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 and has held numerous chairman positions. DANIELS, Gordon F. Gordon was born on July 1, 1920 in Toronto, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served with the Repair and Salvage Unit in France and Germany during World War II. He was discharged in 1946. He was a member of Tara Legion Branch 383 for 49 years. Gordon passed away on October 15, 1995. DAMUDE, Maria L. Maria was born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal on November 3, 1953. She joined the Royal Canadian Army on December 1, 1972. After basic training at CFRS Cornwallis, NS, she joined the Royal Canadian Navy as an operations plotter stationed in Shelburne, NS. In 1975, she reclassified to Administrative Clerk. After over 22 years of service, she retired as a Warrant Officer in July 1995. She started in the Navy, wore an Army Uniform and finished with the Navy. She has been a member of Sir Arthur Curry Legion Branch 116 and has held numerous chairman positions.
