117 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DUFFY, Dennis I. Dennis was born on June 20, 1886 in Ferris, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army on November 8, 1917 and served with the 21st Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force 1st Depot Battalion in the United Kingdom and Europe during World War I. Private Duffy was discharged in November 1919 and was awarded the King George V Medal and the Victory Medal 1914-18. He also served in World War II with the Royal Corps of Engineers in Scotland, England, Belgium and France. He was a member of Kirkland Lake Legion Branch 87. Dennis passed away on April 26, 1977. DUGUAY, Alphonse J. Alphonse was born on April 21, 1940 in Matachewan, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in September 1958 and served with the Algonquin Regiment from 1958 to 1970, the 30th Field Artillery Regiment from 1975 to 1978 and Gray and Simcoe Foresters from 1981-1993. He retired in 1993. Alphonse has been a member of West Ferris Legion Branch 599, Haileybury Legion Branch 54 and PerthUpon-Tay Legion Branch 244 for 20 years. DUFFY, Gordon W. Gordon was born on September 1, 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 22, 1941 and served in England during World War II. Corporal Duffy was discharged on September 21, 1945 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Gordon passed away on July 25, 1954.
