He joined the Royal Canadian Army on September 1, 1970 and served with the 49th Field Regiment and the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Germany, England and Scotland. He was discharged on November 29, 1981. Tom has been a member of Bruce Mines Legion Branch 211 for 16 years. EDGAR, Ernie H. Ernie was born on March 25, 1922 in Scugog Island First Nation, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army on May 19, 1942 and served in Europe during World War II where he was one of the Ojibway Code talkers. He received six different medals during his time spent in service. Following his discharge in 1945, he went on to work at General Motors and became Chief of Scugog Island First Nation. He was a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419 for 50 years. Ernie passed away in November 1987. EASTMAN, Wilfred G. Wilfred was born in Orillia, ON in 1914. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1941 and served with the Grey and Simcoe Foresters during World War II. Wilfred was killed in action in a training accident in Mulgrave, NS in 1941.
