125 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND EGAN, Daniel T. Daniel was born on February 2, 1929 in Cobden, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on June 10, 1953 and served with the 4th Canadian Guard in Korea. He was discharged on February 25, 1957 and was awarded the British Campaign Medal and the Korea Medal for his service. After the war, he moved to Wawa, ON where he worked as a clerk. He was an active member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for 45 years. Daniel passed away on February 10, 2011. EGLINTON, Arthur A. Arthur was born in Birmingham, England on May 17, 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on December 9, 1939 and served with the Perth Regiment of Canada in England, Italy, Belgium, and Holland during World War II. He was discharged on August 8, 1945. After returning to Canada, he worked at a furniture and lumber company until 1952 and was employed as a letter carrier at the Stratford Post Office for 33 years. He was a member of Stratford Legion Branch 8 for 63 years. Arthur passed away on December 7, 2008. EGAN, Phillip L. Phillip was born on October 18, 1940 in Hearst, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on January 28, 1958 and was a gunner on HMCS Bonaventure. He sailed to England, Portsmouth, New York, Philadelphia and Puerto Rico. Following his discharge on May 12, 1961, he joined the Police Service in 1967. He was Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant and Chief from 1978 to 1985. He retired in 1996 and received the first ever Police Exemplary Service Medal. He was a member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for 30 years. Phillip passed away on February 6, 2001.
