141 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND FIORONI, Mario Mario was born in Trento, Italy on June 6, 1962. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on May 10, 1982 and served with the 25th Service Battalion as a trucker. During his military career, he was involved with support tolls in the Oka crisis, the Manitoba Flood of 1997, the Ice Storm of 1998 in Eastern Ontario. He is also employed as a civilian with the Department of National Defence and has transported supplies and personnel for numerous events from Toronto such as the first Gulf War, the Afghanistan conflict, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. In 2013, Mario became a member of Mount Dennis Legion Branch 31. FISK, Kenneth Reid Kenneth was born on October 9, 1926 in Walkerton, ON. He attempted to enlist in the Royal Canadian Air Force but was denied due to colour blindness. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1944 and served on an Algerine Mine Sweeper, HMCS New Liskeard that patrolled the St Lawrence River and Eastern Seaboard out of Halifax, NS. After the war, he was discharged and enrolled in the class of 1949 at the Ontario Veterinary College. Upon graduation, he set up a veterinary practice in Harriston and married Irene Klages on October 8, 1949 and raised five children and one foster child. He left the veterinary practice in 1975 to work for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affairs. He served as Reeve and Mayor of Harriston and was warden of Wellington County in 1968. He has been a Life Member of Harriston Legion Branch 296. FISHER, George W. George was born on June 10, 1921 in Stoney Creek, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on May 6, 1942 and served during World War II. He was discharged on October 13, 1945. George passed away on October 29, 1997.
