He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in September 1942 and served in Europe during World War II. He was discharged in 1946. Gordon has been a member of Captain Fred Campbell Legion Branch 134 for 29 years. FRYZA, Mick Sr. Mick was born in Poland on October 4, 1942. He immigrated to Canada and settled in Manitoba when he was seven. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in September 1942 and served with the Prince Rupert Regiment as a mechanic and driver during World War II. He was discharged in 1946. He married and returned to Manitoba. Moving several times he settled in Oshawa, ON to work at General Motors having seven children of his own. He was a member of Thamesville Legion Branch 367. Mick passed away on November 1, 2012. FREVE, Gerrard C. Gerrard was born on May 23, 1922 in Mattawa, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on August 8, 1940 and served with the Algonquin Regiment as a dispatch rider in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. Private Freve was discharged on September 10, 1945. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was a member of Hornepayne Legion Branch 194. Gerrard passed away on June 21, 2013.
