169 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND GREMM, Kenneth Walter Kenneth was born on November 30, 1925 in Kitchener, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in April 1942 and served with the Highland Light Infantry Company (Galt) in France, Germany, Holland, England, and Scotland during World War II. He entered the war at the Reichswald Forest in February of 1945. The HLI of C was the first Canadian unit across the Rhine. He was one of the liberators of Speldrop, Bienen and Leeuwarden in Holland, among others. He served in Company C with the 1st Canadian Army, 2nd Canadian Corp, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Brigade and 13th Platoon before he was discharged on April 26, 1946, having been awarded the France and Germany Star. Kenneth was a member of Waterloo Legion Branch 530 for 22 years before he passed away on September 23, 1987. GRIEVE, Grant G. Grant was born on May 31, 1921 in Port Elgin, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in February 1945 and served with the Royal Canadian Regiment during World War II. He was discharged on April 17, 1946. Grant has been a member of Port Elgin Legion Branch 340 for 65 years. GRIEVE (LINDSAY), Elizabeth M. Elizabeth was born in Perth, Scotland on July 7, 1923. She enlisted in the Army in Scotland on December 18, 1942. She served with the Auxiliary Territorial Service in Old Dalby, Scorland during World War II and was discharged on September 20, 1946. Elizabeth immigrated to Canada in July 1947 and married J. Gordon Grieve and raised their family on the family farm in Saugeen Township.
