197 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND INGHAM, Thomas Thomas was born on October 10, 1924 in Toronto, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on July 6, 1943 and served on HMCS Iroquois, a Canadian tribal class destroyer assigned to the British 10th Destroyer Flotilla. In August 1944, the Iroquois assisted in sinking 23 enemy ships in a 28 day period in the Bay of Biscay. He was discharged on December 11, 1945. Thomas has been a member of Talbot Trail Legion Branch 613 for 35 years. INWOOD, Norman M. Norman was born on April 16, 1919 in Denbigh, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in October 1939 and served in the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as a vehicle technician in England, France, and Holland during World War II. Norman was discharged in November 1945. He was a member of Northbrook Legion Branch 328 for 45 years and was a Past President. Norman passed away on December 1, 1992. INKSTER, James H. James was born on April 27, 1918 in Bruce Township, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on August 11, 1943 and served as a gunner and driver for chaplains during World War II. After he was discharged on May 21, 1946, he got a loan through the Veterans’ Land Act and bought a farm in the Tiverton area. He married and had three children. Upon retirement, he moved to Tiverton, ON. He was a member of Ferris Legion Branch 430 for 25 years. James passed away on December 22, 1998.
