45 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BIGGS, Donald R. Donald was born on December 30, 1933 in Brantford, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in September 1950 and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 4th Canadian Guards in Korea. He was discharged in March 1955 and returned to work as union leader. He has held many positions in Waterford Legion Branch 123. Donald has been immediate Past President of Waterford Legion Branch 123 and Deputy Zone Commander in District B. BLONDIN, James C. “Chris” Chris was born on March 12, 1963 in Saint-Lambert, QC. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1980 and served with the Royal Canadian Regiment. He spent 14 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, obtaining the Rank of Sergeant. He also served in Europe and has had a peacekeeping tour in Cyprus before he was discharged in 1994. He has been a member of Tara Legion Branch 383 for 22 years and has held several positions including the office of President of Mount Forest and Tara, and has also been the Commander of Zone C-4. In the summer of 2013, he was given the honour of being Dominion Command’s Legion representative at the Nijmegen March held in Holland. He has lived in Tara for the past ten years and has been married to Brenda for 24 years and has two children. BLACK, Samuel F. Samuel was born on November 21, 1925 in Lindsay, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on June 19, 1944 at HMCS Donnacona. He was at home on a 30 day leave when Victory in Europe Day was declared. Samuel was discharged on December 3, 1945. He was a member of Lindsay Legion Branch 67 for 3 years and a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419 for 22 years. Samuel passed away on March 31, 2003.
