63 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CAIN, Robert Thomas Robert was born on January 6, 1898 in Cheltenham, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on January 22, 1916. He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 164th Battalion in England, France, and Belgium. He received a gunshot wound to the shoulder in August 1918. He was discharged in December 1919 and returned to Canada on board the RMS Olympic. After the war, he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. After serving several years he returned to Glen Williams, ON where he raised his 6 children. He was a member of Georgetown Legion Branch 120 for 37 years. Robert died in a tragic quarry accident on December 6, 1950. CAMERON, William M. William was born in Winnipeg, MB on February 14, 1926. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1944 and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry during World War II. He received his discharge in 1946. William has been a member of Goderich Legion Branch 109 for 2 years. CALL, Kenneth M. Kenneth was born in Eastbourne, England on April 24, 1927. He served four and a half years in the British Army and enlisted in the King’s Royal Rifles, known as the 60th Rifles in May 1943. As the war got closer to the end, his Battalion was split up into companies forming the Army of Occupation. A longer stay in Italy and other war zones was needed. He was discharged in August 1947. In 1954, Kenneth immigrated to Canada and settled in Toronto, ON working for the TTC and later in property management for Toronto Harbour Front Development. He joined Port Perry Legion Branch 419 and served with the Colour Party for many years. Kenneth passed away on May 2, 2013.
