83 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND COLE, Peter L. Peter was born in Plymouth, Devon, England on December 8, 1929. He enlisted in the Royal Air Force on January 14, 1948 and served with the Signals Section in England. He received his basic and trade training at RAF Stations West Kirby and Cranwell. Following his discharged on December 31, 1949, he returned to civil service with spells at General Post Office and Latterly in Diplomatic Service with postings to Bonn, West Germany; Ankara, Turkey; East Berlin; Sydney and Canberra, Australia. He immigrated to Canada in 1981 and became a Canadian Citizen in 1984.Peter has been a member of Col. Fred Tilston V.C. Legion Branch 385 for 20 years. COMEAU, Lawrence Paul Lawrence was born in Magog, QC on July 8, 1925 and had 20 siblings. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army and served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment in France, Italy, Germany, and Holland during World War II. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Defense Medal, the Italy Star, the France and Germany Star and the 1939-45 War Medal. Lawrence married Leona A Chute in 1964 and they had three children. He worked in construction. He was granted the wish list program at Parkwood hospital on July 10, 1990 and Carla Pragg, a Dutch girl with whom he had fallen in love during the war, was brought to Canada on a 15 day pass. Lawrence passed away on September 25, 1990. COLVILLE, Graydon R. B. Graydon was born on October 12, 1945 in Bowanville, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on September 17, 1968 and served at HMCS Cornwallis, HMCS Gloucester, on HMCS Stadacona and HMCS Terra Nova. He served in the High seas, England, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Germany, the Arctic, and the United States. Following his discharge on May 8, 1971, he worked in construction, as a taxi driver and for General Motors. Graydon has been a member of Whitby Legion Branch 112 for 42 years.
