7 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN It hardly seems possible that we have now completed year two of our Military Service Recognition Program within our Ontario Command. But here we are with yet another outstanding and successful book that will help identify and recognize many of our Veterans within the Province of Ontario. Veterans who have served their country so well during times of conflict and peace. Having these complimentary books go into our local schools, libraries and our local Branches, can only assist us in the teachings of Remembrance, and at the same time maintain a living document of the Military Service of both our traditional and modern day Veterans. When we introduced our program over two years ago, never in our wildest dreams did we ever anticipate the successes that we have enjoyed with our program. Our success though has been due to the combined support, cooperation and dedication of our Branches, Zones and Districts in promoting our program on a regular basis throughout our Command. So I would like to take this opportunity of thanking each and every-one of you for your involvement and assistance. A special thanks to our hard working committee members that include our two coordinators, Carolyn McCaul and Mary Ann Goheen. Their hard work and dedication towards our program has been outstanding. A special thanks as well for all the support we received from our staff, and in particular, Comrades Dave, Pam and Sue. I also wish to thank our publishers Fenety Marketing for all of their support, cooperation and understanding in making our first two books so successful. Last but certainly not least, I congratulate and thank all of our Branches, Veterans and their families who have participated and continue to participate in our important and special program.
