Military Service Recognition Book 98 Treating chronic pain, our shared responsibility. As one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Canada, Purdue Pharma is dedicated to ongoing research and development in the field of drug delivery and the use of pain medications. However, we also recognize that prescription drug abuse is a public health issue. A recent survey conducted by CAMH showed that 81% of students who use medicines non-medically obtain them from family or friends.1 Purdue Pharma, together with health authorities and the medical community, is actively working to reverse this trend so that the right medications get to the right patients. Through our educational programs and strong community partnerships, we are confident that we can continue to make great strides in addressing the use, abuse and diversion of pain medications.
