109 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND COUSINEAU, Douglas C. Douglas was born on March 21, 1925 in Smith Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy. He served on the following ships: Cataraqui, York, St. Hyacinthe, Cornwallis, Stadacona, Dawson, Scotian, and Forest Hill. He was discharged on November 7, 1945. In civilian life he worked for CPR as a locomotive engineer from 1947-67. He also owned and operated Harco Glass and Mirror in Newmarket and was the last private owner of the Newmarket Ambulance Service. He was a member of Milton Wesley Legion Branch 426 for 30 years. Douglas passed away on March 9, 1996. CRAIG, Stanley G. Stanley was born on January 31, 1923 in New Liskeard, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on October 20, 1942 and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in England, France, Belgium, and Holland. He was discharged on April 28, 1946. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Defence Medal. Stanley was awarded the Legion Meritorious Service Medal and the Palm Leaf for service to the Legion and community. A member of Orillia Branch 34 for 65 years, he served as President 1954-59 and 1972-73. Stanley passed away on July 24, 2010. CRAIG, Kenneth A. Kenneth was born on September 25, 1919 in New Liskeard, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on January 28, 1941. He served with Squadrons No. 429 and 433 in Canada and England during World War II. He was a bomber radio operator and gunner in Lancaster, Halifax and Wellington. He flew many missions over Germany. Flight Lieutenant Craig was discharged on December 15, 1945 and was awarded the European Star & Clasp, the Defence Medal, the 1939-45 War Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the RCA Medal. After the war, he worked for the Post Office for 31 years. He was an active member of Orillia Legion Branch 34 for 57 years. He was past president in 1956, was part of the executive, was parade marshal for 26 years and was awarded Life Membership. Kenneth passed away on June 4, 2002.
