153 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND EVERETT, George Frederick George was born in Battersea, England on October 30, 1923. He enlisted in the Army on April 16, 1942. He served with the King’s Royal Rifle Corps in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany during World War II. He was discharged on October 2, 1954. He was a member of Milton Wesley Legion Branch 426 for over 55 years. George passed away on August 17, 2003. FAIRBROTHER, John W. John was born on December 29, 1919 in Hamilton, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939. He served with the 127th Fighter Wing in Canada, England, Belgium, Holland, Germany, and France. He trained as a pilot, but due to the fact that Canada had more pilots than planes, he ended up assigned to aircraft repair operations. John was discharged in 1945 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Defence Medal. He was a member of St. Marys Legion Branch 236. John passed away on November 4, 1988. FACEY, Lorne A. Lorne was born on August 4, 1951 in St. Mary’s Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on August 20, 1970. He served with the Canadian Forces Land Ordinance Engineers in Canada, Egypt, Australia, England and Bosnia. Lorne began his career at Royal Roads Military College in Victoria, BC. He was commissioned at the Royal Military College in Kingston, ON in 1974. His peace keeping tours were to Egypt in 1979 and Bosnia in 2004. Lorne was discharged in 2006.
