165 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND GAGNON, Raymond L. Raymond was born on July 20, 1942 in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in July 1958. Sapper Gagnon served with the Royal Canadian Engineers, 8th Intake Apprentice Squadron. He was discharged in July 1960 and returned to school in Toronto and later moved to Kapuskasing, ON where he worked in the local paper mill for 34 years. Raymond has been a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch for 50 years. GALIGAN, Peter G. Peter was born in Culp, Alberta on June 22, 1936. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1955. He served as a Fighter Control Operator before re-mustering to the Military Police trade. During his 29 years of service he has served in a variety of posts performing a full spectrum of military police duties in Canada, Europe and Cyprus. He served two tours in Cyprus, one tour UNDOF and four years in Germany. He was awarded the Base Commander’s Achievement Award for Outstanding Performance. Master Warrant Officer Galigan was discharged on November 23, 1991. Peter has been a member of Orillia Legion Branch 34 for 22 years. GALEA, Alfred C. Alfred was born on April 16, 1924 in Malta, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on May 20, 1942. He served with the King’s Own Malta Regiment during World War II. He was discharged on May 29, 1945. He was a member of Maple Leaf Legion Branch 266. Alfred passed away on July 27, 2012.
