189 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND GREENER, Matthew Matthew was born in Seaton Sluice, Northumberland, England in January 1888. He enlisted in the Army in October 1914. Strapper Greener served with the 4th Advanced Remount Squadron in France during World War I. He was discharged on December 20, 1918. Matthew passed away on November 8, 1960. Greenfield, Robert A. G. Robert was born on February 3, 1919 in Oshawa, ON. He enlisted in the Army on July 3, 1940. He served in the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment during World War II. Corporal Greenfield taught troops how to use firearms and keep them in working order, going back and forth to Camp Borden to the Newmarket Camp. He met and married a Newmarket girl and had three children. He was a member of Milton Wesley Legion Branch 426 for 21 years. Robert passed away on January 25, 1967. GREENER, Robert D. Robert was born in Seaton Sluice, Northumberland, England on October 28, 1914. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1939. He served with the No 1 Fighter Squadron and 401 Bomber Command in England during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Canada. Robert passed away on January 24, 2004.
