199 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND GRIFFIN, Isaiah Isaiah was born in Nine Partners, Duchess County, New York, United States on April 24, 1771 to Richard and Mary Griffin. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 4th Lincoln Militia Regiment during the War of 1812-14. After the war, he moved to Nelson Township, Halton County and had eleven children. Isaiah passed away on April 12, 1865 in Waterdown, ON. GRIFFIN, Jonathan Jonathan was born in Nine Partners, Duchess County, New York, United States in 1774 to Richard and Mary Griffin. He served with the 4th Lincoln Militia Regiment during the War of 1812-14. He married Sarah Culp and has seven children. Jonathan passed away in 1814. GRIFFIN, John D.M. John was born on June 3, 1906 in Hamilton, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1941. He served with the Army Medical Corps as a liaison officer personnel selection from 1941 to 1943 and with National Defence Headquarters from 1943 to 1945. He was discharged in 1945. Dr. Griffin graduated from the University of Toronto in 1932 in Medicine. He continued his studies in Canada, the United States, England and Europe. In 1936, he was on the National Committee for Mental Hygiene as Director of Medical Education. In 1939, he became their Medical Director of Canadian Mental Health Association from 1951 to 1971. From 1941 to 1943 he served with Personnel Selection Directorate in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps and later as psychiatric consultant at the Department of National Defence as Colonel. Dr Griffin received the Order of Canada in 1996. John passed away on July 12, 2001.
