21 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ADAMS, Ernest H. “Ernie” Ernest was born in St. Catharines, Ontario on September 19, 1926. He enlisted in the Army on May 12, 1944 and served with the Canadian Technical Training Corp and Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers in Canada during World War II. He was discharged on October 24, 1945. He returned to industry work and was past president of the Merritton Legion Branch 138 and Life Member. Ernest coached minor lacrosse and hockey as well as volunteered for the 6th Division Pacific. ADAMS, Norman L. Norman was born in St. Catharines, Ontario on June 21, 1928. He enlisted in the Army on October 17, 1944 and served in Canada with the 2nd Battalion Lincoln and Welland Regiment as a Reservist. He was discharged on January 1, 1948. Norman has been a member of the Niagara Falls Legion Branch 51 and Port Dalhousie Legion Branch 350 for more than 32 years. He was also secretary of Branch 350. He retired from unemployment office. ADAMS, Grant G. Grant was born on September 4, 1918 in Port Crewe, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on July 1, 1940. He served on HMCS Camrose, HMCS Cobalt, HMCS Woodstock, HMCS Moose Jaw, and HMCS Wentworth during World War II. He saw action in the North Atlantic, the French and Spanish coasts, the Mediterranean and the Eastern Seaboard. He was discharged on July 4, 1945 and went on to work at the GMC Dealer and opened the first Canadian Tire store in Welland, ON. He was awarded the African Star, the Atlantic Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and the 1939-45 Star. Grant has been a member of Burlington Legion Branch 60 for 4 years.
