29 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ANDERSON, Mason H. Mason was born on February 11, 1919 in St. Marys, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939. He served with the No. 420 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force and the No. 55 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in Canada, England and North Africa during World War II. Mason trained as a pilot and went to England on assignment with the Royal Air Force’s Aircraft Delivery Unit. During the war, he spent nine weeks in hospital in Shandur, Egypt in 1942 because of burns, he and his crew suffered when their Baltimore aircraft crashed on take-off due to engine failure. Upon returning to Canada in 1944, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force’s No. 420 Squadron. He was discharged in 1949 and began working with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs as an administrator at Westminster Hospital and later at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. He was the chief administrative officer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the time of his retirement. Mason passed away on January 31, 2012. ARMSTRONG, Malcolm N. Malcolm was born on August 25, 1921 in East Gwillimbury Township, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on September 30, 1942 and served with 1st Division Medical Corps in Britain, Central Mediterranean area, and Northwest Europe during World War II. Awarded the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, CVSM and Clasp and the 1939-1945 War Medal. He was a member of Brock Legion Branch 141 in Sunderland. Malcolm passed away on September 13, 2012. ANTOINE (KEBESHKONG), Dominic Dominic was born in 1909. He enlisted in the Army and served during World War II. He was discharged due to health reasons. He married Josephine Mississens and had ten children. Dominic passed away on July 28, 1979.
