37 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BALLS, Eber C. Eber was born on April 23, 1892 in Donegal Elma Township, Ontario to Cornelius Balls and Eunice Sabina Lewis. He enlisted in the Army on October 10, 1917 and served with the 1st Depot Battalion, Western Ontario Regiment during World War I. He married Evelyn May Keightley. Eber passed away on October 30, 1969. BANNAN, Stewart W. Stewart was born on February 24, 1896 in Emily Township, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on August 16, 1914. He served with the Royal Montreal Regiment, 14th Canadian Battalion in Canada, England, France, and Belgium during World War I. He was discharged in March 1919. Stewart passed away in 1985. BALLS, Russell G. Russell was born on March 26, 1896 in Donegal Elma Township, Ontario to Cornelius Balls and Eunice Sabina Lewis. He enlisted the Army on May 13, 1918 and served with the 1st Depot Battalion, Western Ontario Regiment. After the war, he farmed at Science Hill, ON and also worked at the Maxwell factory in St. Marys. Russell had six children, one of which, Earl, also served in the military.
