55 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BLAKELY, Larry R. Larry was born in Yarmouth, NS on August 13, 1944. He was a Reservist from 1961-1964 and transferred to the Regular forces in 1964. Major Blakely was an aviation technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1974, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree, he was commissioned into the logistics classification. He served throughout Canada and his logistics duties took him to the United States, England, France, and Germany. He was discharged in 1994. In retirement, Larry has devoted his time to his family and has been an avid outdoorsman. BOATE, Arthur William Arthur was born on January 10, 1919. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders, 9th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division in England and Europe during World War II. Arthur was wounded near Nijmegen and died on December 29, 1944 from his wounds. He is buried at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, Netherlands. He is commemorated on the Cenotaph in Omemee, ON. BLOYE, Douglas J. L. Douglas was born on March 15, 1984 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on January 21, 2013. Douglas has been a member of Bruce Mines Legion Branch 211 for 5 years.
