57 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BOCOCK, Gordon T. Gordon was born on September 21, 1919 in Peterborough, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in June 1942. He served with the Hastings and Prince Edward County Regiment in Canada, England, Sicily and Italy during World War II. He was seriously wounded in Italy and was initially listed as killed in action. . He was discharged in May 1945. He was a member of Harry Brown V.C. Legion Branch 497 for 59 years and the branch hall is dedicated in his honour. Gordon passed away on December 2, 2008. BOLTON, Howard E. L. Howard was born on April 13, 1926 in Thessalon, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on August 20, 1942. He served with the 17th Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany during World War II. He had volunteered for service in Japan but the bomb ended the conflict. He was discharged on November 20, 1945 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. He was a member of Bruce Mines Legion Branch 211 for 14 years. Howard passed away on June 4, 2001. BOIRE, Oscar J. Oscar was born on August 21, 1914 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on May 9, 1940. He served as a sapper with the Royal Canadian Engineers in France and Belgium in World War II. He was discharged on August 29, 1945 and moved to Sarnia. He married and worked at Polysar until his retirement. Oscar passed away on October 29, 1984.
