65 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BRAWLEY, James B. James was born on December 18, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on July 21, 1950. He served on HMCS Huron and HMCS Magnificent in Korea. He was discharged on July 21, 1955. James has been a member of Sault Ste. Marie Legion Branch 25 for 59 years. BRIDGE, Milton R. “Milt” Milt was born on September 26, 1921 in the Wallace Township, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 6, 1941 as a clerk stenographer and later started aircrew training in Toronto, followed by pilot training in Windsor. In December 1942, Milt was deployed to England and then went to North Africa as a pilot in No. 420 Bomber Squadron. The crew completed a tour of operations from North Africa over Sicily, Italy, Corsica and Sardinia. In December 1943, he returned to Honeybourne, England to serve as an operational pilot instructor until he returned to Canada in February 1945. In civilian life Milt began his teaching career in 1948 and became a principal in 1949, retiring in 1978. He was active in local politics, serving as Town Councilor, Deputy Reeve, Reeve, Warden of Wellington County and two terms as President of Harriston Legion Branch 296. Milton passed away on April 7, 2005. BRAWN, Lloyd C. Lloyd was born in Sedley, Saskatchewan on August 23, 1925 and came to Raglan, Ontario in 1937. He enlisted in the Army on March 7, 1944. He received his basic infantry training in Cornwall and from there went to Red Deer, AB where he began training to drive large army transports. His final destination was Nova Scotia before being shipped overseas. Lloyd left Debert, NS in 1943 to go to Farnborough, England. From the United Kingdom he was sent to the Netherlands, where he drove for the army. He spent the remainder of the war in Marseilles, driving goods to the front lines and returning with wounded soldiers who were being shipped back to Canada. Lloyd was discharged on August 13, 1946.
