73 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BUCK, William E. “Bill” Bill was born on April 1, 1930 in Windsor, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 2, 1948. He served with Personnel Support / Special Services as a physical education and recreation instructor. He served in France from 1954-57 and in Germany from 1969-72. He was assigned as Officer in Charge of the gymnastics performances at the Canadian Centennial Tattoo in 1966-67 before completing the Royal Canadian Air Force Staff School. In 1976, he was assigned to the Canadian Olympic Games Headquarters as manager of the Athletes Control Centre. He served in the 2nd United Nations Emergency Force that helped supervise the ceasefire between Egyptian and Israeli forces in 1978. After retiring, he managed the Security Services at University Hospital in London, Ontario. Bill has been a member of The Edward MacDonald Legion Branch 499 for 38 years. BUDD, Norman William Allen Norman was born on July 30, 1927 in Millbrook, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on March 5, 1945 and served with the RCR during World War II. He was discharged on March 13, 1946 and re-enlisted on August 12, 1950 and served again with the RCR in the Korean War. He was discharged on October 11, 1951. He was a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419. Norman passed away on February 5, 2013. BUCKLAND, Edward George “Lloyd” Lloyd was born on May 13, 1918 in Wiarton, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on January 9, 1941. He served as a gunner with the 5th Canadian Medium Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery in Italy, Belgium, and Holland during World War II. He was discharged on November 14, 1945 and returned home to settle on a farm in Keppel Township, ON with his wife. The highlight of his life was being able to return to Holland for their 50th Liberation Anniversary. He was a member of Wiarton Legion Branch 208 for 22 years. Lloyd passed away on January 2, 2005.
