He enlisted in the Army in August 1914 and served with the Royal Scottish Fusiliers in Britain and France during World War I. He was discharged in February 1919 and re-enlisted on January 25, 1943. He served with the Veterans Guard of Canada at the Bowmanville prisoner of war camp during World War II. He was discharged on May 25, 1945. He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, the Victory Medal and the British War Medal for his service in World War I, and was awarded the War Medal 1939-45 and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for his service in World War II. George passed away on July 18, 1971. BURNETT, James James was born in Cullen, Scotland on June 30, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on May 22, 1941. He served with the Royal Regiment of Canada in Canada, England and France during World War II. James was killed in action in 1942, in Dieppe, France. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the War Medal 1939-45 and Dieppe Bar. BURNETT, George M. George was born in Cullen, Scotland on February 19, 1921. He enlisted in the Army on October 24, 1941. He served with the Army Service Corps in Canada, England, Belgium, France, and Holland during World War II. He was discharged on October 18, 1945. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and the War Medal 1939-45. He was a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419. George passed away on June 13, 1954.
