105 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BULL, Anne Anne was born in Scotland. She served with the Air Force during World War II. Anne was married to Clifford Bull and her last known residence was in California. BULL, Douglas Maxwell Douglas was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on August 31, 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in July 1941 and served in Canada during World War II. Flight Lieutenant Douglas Bull received his wings at Prince Albert, SK in April 1942, was posted in Trenton, then Brantford, then back to Trenton as a #1 Flying Instructor. He was born in Moose Jaw but had lived in Hamilton for twenty two years. He was killed on July 25, 1944 when the Cessna Crane #8031 aircraft he was flying during a training session, malfunctioned, crashed and caught fire in Trenton. His remains were enfolded in the RCAF Ensign before being placed in his casket. Full Military honours were paid in a service at Trenton, then the casket was conveyed to the home of his wife’s parents in Hamilton, where a private service was held, followed by a public service and burial at Barton Stone United Church. He is remembered in honour at the Barton Stone United Church Cemetery and is in the perpetual care of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. BULL, Clifford Frank Clifford was born in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec in 1921. He was a Flying Officer in the RCAF and was serving with the British RAF with the 38th Bomber Squadron, part of a six man crew who flew the Vikers Wellington Twin Engine Long Range Medium Bomber during World War II. He was killed in action on March 7, 1944 in the Mediterranean when the Wellington aircraft #MP804 failed to return from a mine laying operation in the harbor at Rhodes Island, Greece. He has no known grave but received the Distinguished Flying Cross. His name is inscribed on the Alamein War Memorial in Egypt and is remembered with honours at the Alamein War Memorial.
