127 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CHARRON, Jarrod J. Jarrod was born in Forest, Ontario on August 13, 1985. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces – Army in 2004. He served with 2 Service Battalion, Transport Company in Petawawa, Ontario. He went to Afghanistan from October 2008 to April 2009. Jarrod is still active in the military and is still serving with the 2nd Service Battalion. He has been a member of Forest Legion Branch 176 for eight years. CHARTER, Ralph David Ralph was born in Coronation, Alberta on April 15, 1920. He enlisted in the Army on June 19, 1941 and served with the RCOC Corps in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany during World War II. Ralph was discharged on April 4, 1946 and returned home to become a fire fighter at Hagersville Army camp until it closed. He was retained to be a crash rescue fire fighter at the London, Ontario airport until his retirement. He was a member of Waterford Legion Branch 123 for over fifty years. Ralph passed away on February 26, 2010. CHARRON, Kenneth John “Brian” Brian was born in Sarnia, Ontario on February 18, 1980. He enlisted with C SQN. First Hussars in 1997 and began his career as a driver, training on the Cougar AVGP. After continued trade training and completion of Leadership courses, Brian went on to crew command various vehicles, and instruct on numerous recruit courses. Brian was deployed on Op Recuperation as part of aid to civil power following the ice storm of 1998. Brian served with the 2nd BN PPCLI as part of SFOR, on OP Palladium in the former Yugoslavia for NATO in 2002-2003. His decorations and awards include Top Candidate on his QL2, QL3, QL4 Courses, Top Trooper Award 1998, Basic Parachutist, Non-Article Five, CF Peacekeeper Medal, and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Brian retired at the rank of MCPL in the fall of 2010.
