133 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CHRISTIANSON, Gordon W. Gordon was born in Swastika, Ontario on February 5, 1914. He enlisted in the Army in the fall of 1943 and served with the Brockville Rifles in Canada and Jamaica during World War II. He was discharged on April 10, 1946. He was a member of Haileybury Legion Branch 54 for 35 years. Gordon passed away on February 6, 2007. CLARK, Ronald C. Ronald was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on September 17, 1966. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces on May 18, 1984 at London, Ontario and was assigned to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) as a Sonar Operator. After completing his recruit training at CFRS Cornwallis, NS, and trades training at Halifax, NS; he served on the east coast ships HMCS Charlottetown, HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Gatineau, and HMCS Terra Nova. He sailed in numerous NATO deployments including the Gulf War supporting the NATO Fleets dealing with counter terrorism and maritime security operations in the Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Gulf of Oman. His medals include the Gulf and Kuwait Medal, South West Asia Service Medal (Afghanistan), Special Service Medal (NATO), Canadian Peacekeeping Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration. He also received the Liberation of Kuwait Medal presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ronald was honourably discharged in February 2005 at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. His father Larry (Ike) Clark also served in the Royal Canadian Navy. CLARK, Robert John Robert was born in Kingston, Ontario on February 21, 1933. He enlisted in the Army in 1951 and served with 1st and 3rd RCR Guards in Korea from 1951 to 1953 and during Peacetime in Cyprus from 1965 to 1966; Egypt from 1973 to 1974 and Germany from 1957 to 1959. Robert was wounded in Korea in 1952. He was working at Fort Frontenac, Kingston at Officer Mess. Robert was discharged in 1978. He moved to Dawson Creek in 1980 and move back to Pembroke in 1993. Robert did a lot for The Royal Canadian Legion and is a Life Member of Pembroke Legion Branch 72.
