159 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DALRYMPLE, Eden Eden was born in Kennetcook, Nova Scotia on January 17, 1925. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 4, 1943 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He served with the No. 16 Recruiting Centre in Canada, Iceland and the North Atlantic during World War II. During his service he was stationed in Iceland and involved with the Navy searching for submarines. He was honourably discharged on May 10, 1946 at the rank of Leading Aircraftman. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45. He was a member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for 58 years, having held every office at Branch level other than President and was awarded the Legion Diamond Jubilee Medal. Eden passed away on April 30, 2010. DANIELS, Clayton Ray Clayton was born in Methune, Ontario on January 2, 1920. He enlisted in the Army on March 12, 1942. On enrolment he was placed in the Canadian Fusiliers TFD and served in Canada during World War II. He was later transferred to The Black Watch RHR of Canada and sent to England for further training. The Regiment was sent to France in 1944 and he was wounded and taken prisoner by the enemy. He recovered from his wounds and remained a Prisoner until hostilities ended in 1945. After discharge on August 21, 1945, he worked in lumber mills and later with Reids dairy and thirty years with Northern Electric until retirement. He was a member of Coe Hill Legion Branch 581. Clayton passed away on June 2, 2000. DANIELS, Bernard Raymond Bernard was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 25, 1932. In 1947, his father, who was an old Pfer (Permanent Force RCR) was returned to Canada after World War II service and posted to Camp Borden, ON (RCS of I) and Bernard was moved with his family to that location. He served in Canada, Korea, Continental Europe, Africa, Middle East and Cyprus. He then joined the Canadian Army on March 15, 1950. He served in the Royal Canadian Regiment, the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, the Royal Canadian Postal Corps and finally with the Administrative Branch of the Canadian Forces where he was discharged as a Master Warrant Officer on June 30, 1977. At the start of his military career he was tagged nick-named Danny and still to this day is known as Danny Daniels. After his discharged from the Army on June 30, 1977, Danny served with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for 33 years.He was awarded the Korean Medal, the United Nations Services Medal (Korean Clasp), the Canadian Forces Voluntary Service Medal for Korea, the United Nations Emergency Forces Medal, The Special Services Medal with Nato and Alert Clasps, the Voluntary Service for Peacekeepers, the United Nations Forces in Cypress, the Canadian Forces Decoration with clasp and the Long Service Medal of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires with three clasps. Bernard was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 462, Eastview for 45 years.
