163 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DAVIES, Fred C. Fred was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 6, 1923. He enlisted in the Air Force on February 10, 1942. He served with 408 Bomber Squadron and 405 PFF Squadron during World War II. He trained in Canada then went to England with Bomber Command. He was a prisoner of war at Stalag Luft III North. Fred did two tours of operations. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. After his discharge on May 17, 1947, Fred worked for Ontario Hydro for 35 years. He has been a member of East Toronto Legion Branch 11 for two years. DECOU, Myrna Francis Myrna was born in Red Deer, Alberta on February 2, 1937. She enlisted in the Air Force on February 25, 1955 and served in Canada until her discharge on February 1, 1957. Myrna has been a member of Onaping Falls Legion Branch 503 for 48 years. DAVIS, Harold F. Harold was born in Kingston, Ontario on July 21, 1920. He enlisted in the Navy in 1940 and served on four minesweepers out of Halifax during World War II. He was awarded two North Atlantic Stars, the King George VI Coronation Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Harold was discharged in September 1945 and moved to Toronto where he became a very talented stone engraver for over thirty years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he could amuse his fellow comrades with his story telling and humour. Harold has been a member of Earle J Brant Memorial Legion Branch 280 for 45 years.
