171 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DOCHERTY, Archie Archie was born on March 24, 1903 in Saskatchewan. He joined the Toronto Scottish Regiment on November 21, 1939. He served in Canada, England, France, Holland and Belgium during World War II. Archie was wounded in the back by a piece of exploding shell. He was discharged on July 20, 1945 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Holland Belgium Star. After the war he worked in Nichol Mine in Sudbury. He moved to Wawa and worked as Millwright at Algoma Ore Division. He was a member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for fifty years. Archie passed away on November 10, 1995. DODGSON, Lloyd Iles Lloyd was born on January 3, 1918 in Toronto, Ontario. Before the war Lloyd worked in the lab of Public Health Department for the City of Toronto. While there he attended and passed a course for sanitary inspectors. Lloyd enlisted in the Army and started his basic training in Brantford, Ontario in December 1941. As a member of the 1st Canadian Corps he was deployed to the Mediterranean Theatre in October 1943 where part of his service was with the 21st British Armoured Brigade. He served in Canada, England, Italy and Germany (occupation) with the 5th Cdn. Fd. Hygiene Section, RCAMC during World War II. After his discharge on August 9, 1946, Lloyd returned to Public Health field working in various health inspection roles with City of Toronto, Perth County and the Province of Ontario. After retirement he worked for a while as Administrator at Nursing Homes and as a Corps de Commissionaire at Pearson Airport. Lloyd has been a member of Richmond Hill Legion Branch 375. DODDS, Orland K. Orland was born in Sarnia, Ontario on February 19, 1952. He served with the Canadian Air Force from January 1971 to July 2006 as a radar Electronics technician. He did a tour in Lahr, Germany, Tinker AF Base, OK, USA (AWACS), and nine Can. Stns/Base, including 8ACCS, Aerospace Communications and Control Sqn, Trenton. His deployment included Rwanda, Afghanistan, flying out of Oman, and numerous other deployments and exercises throughout Canada. After retirement from the Air Force, he continued his thirty year plus service with the Royal Canadian Legion. He has been a member of the executive of Branch 176 Forest, Ontario.
