189 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ELLIOTT, Scott J. Scott was born in Brampton, Ontario on August 30, 1964. Warrant Officer Scott Elliott started his military career by joining the Governor General’s Horse Guards an Armoured reserve unit in Toronto in June 1982 for summer training. Now, 31 years, two tours in Bosnia and one to Afghanistan later he is still serving. His first tour to Bosnia was in 98-99 and he was an Observer in the Squadron Headquarters of the Royal Canadian Dragoons. His second tour in 2003 was with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry regiment as the Light Patrol Company Transport Sergeant. Scott’s tour to Afghanistan from 2007 to 2009 was as a section commander at the front gate and as a convoy commander for the National Support Element, resupplying the Forward operating bases throughout the Canadian Area of Operations. Scott has six medals: General Campaign Star – Southwest Asia Campaign Star, Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, NATO Medal Former Yugoslavia, NATO Medal – Non-Article 5 (Balkans), Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, Commendation Decoration with Bar. He has been a member of Sarnia Legion Branch 62 for five years. ESSER, George George was born in Eda, Holland on November 28, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on November 30, 1942 and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada in Holland during World War II. George was killed in action on October 23, 1944 in the Netherlands. ELSON, Gordon A. Gordon was born in Park Hill, Ontario on April 8, 1934. He enlisted in the Army on September 18, 1952 and served with the RCR and the Canadian Guard in Korea during the Korean War. He was discharged on September 21, 1955. Gordon has been a member of Lions Head Legion Branch 202 for 26 years.
