59 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BAGE, Albert F. Albert was born in Guelph, Ontario on August 14, 1921. He enlisted in the Army on July 3, 1940 and served with No. 1 District Depot (AF) Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, 17 Canadian Light Field Ambulance in England and Continental Europe during World War II. Private Albert Bage was discharged on July 18, 1946. His decorations included the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-45 War Medal, the 1939-45 Star, and the France and Germany Star. Albert passed away on May 9, 1959. BAILEY, Charles Herbert Charles was born in England. He enlisted in the Army and served with the East Surrey Regiment, 1st Btn in France during World War I. Private Charles Herbert Bailey was killed in action on July 23, 1916 in Thiepval, France. His remains were never recovered. Charles never got to meet his only son, who served in World War II as a Morse operator in the RAF. BAGE, Gladys E. Gladys was born in St Marys, Ontario on December 9, 1915. She enlisted in the Army on March 2, 1942 and served with the No. 20 Company, Canadian Women’s Army Corps in Canada (Chatham and London, Ontario) during World War II. Private Gladys Bage was discharged on February 8, 1943. She was awarded the Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. Gladys passed away on June 1, 1991.
