83 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BIDTNES, Steven R. Steven was born in Oslo, Norway on April 8, 1964. Capt. Steven Bidtnes joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Private in the Signal Corp on October 4, 1984. He served with the 1 Cdn Div, 423 (MH) Sqn, 443 (MH) Sqn and 407 (MP) Sqn. He remustered to the RCAF in 1991 and served as an Airborne Electronic Sensor Operator on Sea King helicopters flying from seven different Canadian warships. He was commissioned as an Air Navigator in 1997 and flew aboard CP-140 Auroras. He served as a Peacekeeper in Iraq and Bosnia and in the war on terror in Afghanistan, completing five tours during his more than thirty year long career. BISSON, Joseph Joseph was born in St Emile de Sefford on March 24, 1921. He enlisted in the Army on September 6, 1943 and served with the Fusiliers MontRoyal in Canada, United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged on November 15, 1944. His medals include the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Upon returning to civilian life, Joseph married and raised a family. He was a member of Matachewan Legion Branch 386 and Montreal River Legion Branch 310 for a total of twenty years. Joseph passed away on March 9, 1979. BILLETT, Victor F. Victor was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 22, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on April 14, 1943 and served with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada Militia and with the Highland Light Infantry. He served in France, Belgium and Holland during World War II. Victor was discharged on March 4, 1946. He was a proud Life Member of Branch 344 – QORC Branch. Victor passed away on September 14, 2013.
