93 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BOYER, Marcel R. Marcel was born in Valleyfield, Quebec on May 2, 1922. He enlisted in the RCASC on August 9, 1941 and served with the 85th Bridge Corp trucking division in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. He was discharged on May 1, 1946. After the war he continued driving trucks. He was a member of Forest Legion Branch 176 for seventeen years. Marcel passed away on January 11, 2006. BRAND, Christopher A. “Chris” Chris was born on June 6, 1983 in London, Ontario. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces as an Infantryman on September 2, 2005 in London, ON and served with the Canadian Army. He completed his basic training at CFB Borden and went on to his trades training at Camp Meaford, ON. He was then posted to the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) in Petawawa. In preparation for deployment to Afghanistan he trained at CFB Wainwright, Alberta; Texas, Florida and Arizona, USA. Chris was part of the security task force for the G8 Summit in Toronto. He completed a tour in Afghanistan in 2008 (TSK 03-08) and received the General Campaign Star. Chris served his country for six years and was honourably discharged on September 2, 2011 at the rank of Corporal. BOYLE, Clarence Clarence was born in Windsor, Ontario on June 12, 1918. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 and served with the Essex Scottish, the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and the Canadian Scottish Regiment. He served in Canada, D-Day Normandy, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. He received two shrapnel wounds to his right knee in France and shrapnel wound to the right eyebrow in Holland. After his discharge in 1946, Clarence returned to work at the Ford Motor Car Co. in Windsor, Ontario. He has been a member of Legion Branches 143 Ambassador and 241 Comber for a total of 49 years.
