Military Service Recognition Book

Military Service Recognition Book Volume V 100 He was a proud man - a loving husband to Dauntless M. Durfy an adoring father to Mary Ann (John), Lynn (Graham), Mike (Sue) and Patty (Graham). A doting and fun-loving Grandfather to Julie, Jason, Bob, Chris, Jeremy, Michael, James, Marta and Sean. A life-time resident of Wallaceburg, Ontario. Affectionately called "Durf" and locally known for being the heart of "Durfy's Bakery" in Wallaceburg and also for being a member and past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #18....his 'home' away from 'home'. We fondly remember our many, many family visits that always included going to "his" Legion and having fun - playing pool, weekend dances, and FREEZING cold beer ! Christmas, Easter and St. Patty's day(s) celebrations....and, watching the boats go by ... Even as he got older and would sometimes need the walking stick - he never let that stop him from standing tall and proud. Because of him, we ALL honour and respect our Canadian Service Men & Women for their Bravery, Selflessness & Patriotism. We recognize their sacrifices and pay our respect(s) to those who have gone before...we are forever indebted to these very Special Canadians for the live(s) we get to lead now. We, who are honouring my grandpa, Ron Durfy - Jordy and Julie Thornton of TMT Metals.
