139 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND EMPEY, Lindsay Robert Lindsay was born on July 2, 1914 in Eldorado, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in June 1942 and served with the Prince of Wales Own Regiment in Canada during World War II. He received his training at various locations including Sherbrooke, Quebec and was an instructor of advanced training near Windsor, Nova Scotia. He was drafted three times for overseas duty. His top pay was $3.10. He was discharged in November 1945 and was a member of the Legion Branch 363. Lindsay passed away on April 21, 2011. FABIAN, Charles “Jerome” Jerome was born in Pembroke, Ontario on January 12, 1941. He enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on June 19, 1956 in Toronto, Ontario. On completion of his initial and trades training at CFB Petawawa, he served with the 2nd Battalion of the Canadian Guards stationed at Petawawa. Jerome was honourably discharged in December 1957 at the rank of Guardsman (Private). ENGLISH, Roland Roland was born on December 25, 1891, son of Matila English from Waterloo. He enlisted in the Army during World War I and was attached to the Canadian Infantry (Western Ontario Regiment), Division: 18th Battalion. Private Roland English was killed in action on September 23, 1918 and is commemorated on page 404 of the First World War Book of Remembrance and is buried at FaubourgD’Amiens Cemetery, Arras, Pas de Calais, France.
