143 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND FELICE, Max Max was born in Marsa, Malta on March 24, 1940. He enlisted on the May 14, 1962 in the Royal Air Force with 38 Squadron. He served in England, Gibraltar, Malta, Cyprus, Africa and Northern Ireland. He was discharged on May 13, 1965. He then married and immigrated to Canada where he and his wife had two girls and two boys. He retired from Boeing in 1998. He and his family moved to Orangeville in 1972 where they still reside. He has been a member of Legion Branch 233 for thirty years. FERGUSON, George George was born in Scotland on July 19, 1924. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served in Canada, Europe, England and France during World War II. He was wounded on July 19, 1944 in France as they were going back for a rest after six days and seven nights up front with no one side moving. On a road cut about four to five feet high on each side they were trapped when a small gas truck was hit and lit the whole road for the German 88’s to rain shells on them. He has been told that they lost 34 men on the road that became known as Bomb Alley. George spent three months in the 23rd Canadian Hospital after which he was on his way home to Canada. George returned to his former trade as a plumber for the next 48 years. He retired to Leacock Lodge with his wife by his side. He has been a member of Mount Dennis Legion Branch 31 and Coronation Branch 286 for a total of ten years. FENNER, Clayton Clayton was born in Waterloo on December 3, 1893, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fenner. He enlisted in the Army during World War I on March 13, 1916. He was attached to the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment), Division: 52nd. Private Clayton Fenner was killed in service on April 14, 1917 and is commemorated on page 217 of the First World War Book of Remembrance and is buried in the La Chaudière Military Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France.
