19 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ACORN, Kay Edith Kay was born on August 15, 1923 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She joined the Army on June 22, 1942 and served in Vermilion, Alberta and Kitchener, Ontario during World War II. She became Sergeant, instructing Canadian Women’s Army Corps, drill and physical fitness training at the Vermilion and Kitchener CWAC Training Centres. Kay was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and was discharged on October 12, 1945. After discharge, Kay married Charles Howard and they had six children. She has been a long time Legion member of the Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Wellington, Ontario Legion Branches. ADAMS, Harry James Harry was born in Newbury in the County of Beaks, England on July 6, 1935. He moved to Canada when he was ten years old. He enlisted in the Air Force on November 12, 1952 and served in Canada. He was an employee of AECL for 25 years until his retirement. He had five daughters and married in 1960. He was a member of the Legion Branch 72 Pembroke. Harry passed away on November 25, 2015. ADAIR, Ronald G. Ronald was born on April 10, 1943 in Edmonton, Alberta. He enlisted in the Air Force on December 1, 1961 and served with the Air Force Police in Canada and Germany. After his discharge on December 1, 1969, he worked for the Ontario Provincial Police for 26 years. He is a member of Midland Legion Branch 80.
